About Rev Sandra

Hello, Dear Friend. Welcome to our ministry, "Positive Prayer." I'm Sandra Hopper the Director of "Positive Prayer." My partner in ministry, and the CEO of this ministry is God.

What causes someone to be drawn to ministry? For me it is something that has been with me my entire life, although it took me many years to become aware of it. Even as a little girl I was drawn to church, although no one else in the family was interested.

Before entering the ministry, I was a Registered Nurse for 33 years, with the last 6 years as a Case Manager for a hospice. I worked for the Indian Health Service for 9 years helping with clinics in Winslow, AZ, and satellite clinics on the Navajo Reservation. For over 15 years I worked in Critical Care. Even during my nursing career I felt I was being called to minister, and did ministry with my patients, their families, and with my co-workers.

Finally a few years ago I became conscious of a powerful restlessness in me about my work and I realized that I was ready to leave nursing. When my husband asked me what I wanted to do, it just popped out and surprised me as much as it did him. "I want to be a minister' I said, and that started an exciting journey that brought me to this place today.

I'm now an ordained Unity minister and one of the things I came to realize while I was in ministerial school is the importance of prayer. For me, having a consistent prayer and meditation practice in my life is very important. Everything that I believe about God, humankind, and our world has come from spending time in prayer and meditation. I started this prayer ministry to share my prayer consciousness with the world. I'm glad that you have found your way here.
